Wee Bits & Pieces

All the new Philly parents need to know this week Read more

Baby Food: The New York Times treated second graders to a seven-course, $220 meat at Daniel. As expected, the results were priceless.

Best. Club. Ever.: Seriously. Moms, read the rules and you’ll be in too.

An Event for You: Local website Next City is hosting a discussion about the importance of, and how to make, Philadelphia more family friendly. The panel of experts know their stuff. The event is free; register here.

Events for the Family: The Philly Arts Center is having back-to-back block parties at both locations. On October 19th, there’s a fall festival in Queen Village in conjunction with Mural Arts. (Expect art projects and food trucks.) On October 26th, there’s a Halloween festival in Fairmount in conjunction with the Fairmount Halloween Parade. Come in costume and get ready to dance and craft. Shot Tower is also having a fall festival on Saturday. Free pizza! Free face painting! Free games!

Easy Cooking: Cooling temps mean it’s time to crack out the slow cooker. Anything that requires pre-cooking is too much work for me. Check out my all-time favorite recipe, these chicken tacos from Martha.
