New Philadelphia Party Space: Mi Casita!

Or should we say “fiesta space”? Read more

birthday party venue, mi casita

You’ve no doubt heard by now of Mi Casita, the forthcoming Spanish immersion preschool at 15th and Fairmount. Run by the ebullient Melissa Page (whom many parents already know from the Spanish story times she leads at My Fabulous Mama and Cloth), the preschool is awaiting its final state inspection before opening. In the meantime, though? Melissa has already gotten busy offering playgroups* in the school, and — most recently — opening the space up for birthday parties.

It’s awesome news — and not just because we’re always happy to hear about more places to have birthday parties. It’s extra good news because we’re talking about 4,600 square feet of run-around space for up to 60 people, and Melissa is offering everything from simple venue rental to the whole planned shebang. If you opt for the first version, rates start at $200 for two hours, and you get your choice of room, two staff members, an in-person planning meeting, unlimited email consultation, and clean-up. If you opt for the second version, Melissa and crew will help you do the whole thing (including dreaming up themes), starting at $375 for two hours, which covers supplies and party favors for 12 guests. In both scenarios, cakes, pizza, drinks, balloons (and so on) can be added on a la carte. You can see all the details here.
*Meantime, if you’re Interested in popping in on a Mi Casita playgroup sometime, then just call or email Melissa for the details.
