Tina Corrado is a Main Line lifer: She grew up Wynnewood and Villanova, now lives in Devon, and owns Posh Collections Boutique in Malvern, a cute shop filled with hip women’s clothes. When she’s not buying goods and hanging at the store, she’s dashing around town with Rocco, her six year old son. See their favorite places to hang.
Favorite local playground or park: Rocco and I love going to Wilson Farm Park in Chesterbrook. There is a great playground, endless land to run around on, and it’s always a sure thing that I will run into clients and friends with their little ones there!
Where does your little one attend daycare/preschool/school? St. Aloysius Academy in Bryn Mawr. It’s the most amazing and nurturing all-boys academy. Rocco is so happy there!
Kid’s haircut: Steve at Super Cuts in Devon.
Special snack: Rocco has food allergies (me too…runs in the fam) so his favorite indulgence is a gluten-free and vegan snickerdoodle cupcake from Dia Doce bakery in West Chester.
Favorite warm weather outing: We just adore going for our “forest adventures” in Jenkins Arboretum and have a great time exploring the paths and sitting by the pond.
Summer vacation spot: Cape May. It has the best combination of kid/family fun mixed with incredible restaurants and date night spots.
Kids’ class: YSC Soccer Clinics are well orchestrated, and we meet new friends.
Date night spot: Without a doubt Restaurant Alba in Malvern. It’s a charming, cozy space, has well-appointed decor, a perfect wine list, and has one of the very best menus in all of Philadelphia!
Rainy day go-to: Jumpers Fun Center in Newtown Square. A bounce house that is sure to put a smile on my little guy’s face!
Place for baby/kid clothes: Crew Cuts is my “go-to” for wardrobing Rocco. He still lets me dress him like a “little man” even at 6 years old. As a stylish mom, I must teach him the importance of being well-dressed!
Favorite fast beauty treatment: Grazia in Malvern. This newly-opened delight of a spa is a true retreat from the moment you walk through the front door.
Toy store: Big Smile Toys in Paoli (above the Paoli Hardware Store). It’s a toy boutique with something fun for kids of all ages.
Kid-friendly restaurant: Shangrila in Devon. Rocco can’t get enough of their basil fried rice! Yum!
Favorite cultural activity or event: I travel to NYC very frequently for Posh. When the schedules permit, I love to take Rocco with me. Our NYC itinerary always includes the theatre and museums! wonderful learning experience for Rocco while enjoying family time!
Item you can’t live without: Ipad. Great learning tool for Rocco. It amazes me how proficient these young minds can be with technology.
Exercise class: Title Boxing Club in Malvern. Hands down…best workout ever!
Place for baby/children’s gifts: The Picket Fence in Malvern. The owner has a back room in her shop devoted just to baby gifts! You will never leave empty handed!
Fun kids party spot: Dave and Busters!
Favorite toy in your house right now: Anything involving Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
One thing you wish Philly had that it doesn’t: More allergy friendly restaurants! I can’t wait for Philly to get an exclusively gluten-free restaurant.
My favorite part of living here with my wee one is: Living just outside of Philly is great. You get all the benefits and amenities that a big city has to offer with a more manageable and approachable scale. Everything is at our fingertips.
