Any time there’s news of new kids’ classes, we get excited — and that goes double for when there’s a drop-in or drop-off option involved. And this time, there’s both!
The fabulous Yoga Habit in Fairmount is now offering kids’ yoga classes of a couple varieties: There’s a toddler-and-parent class on Mondays, as well as a Tuesday class for kids ages 3 to 10 (parents are welcome, but not required — and kids must be potty-trained to attend the class without a parent). There will also be another kids’ class on Saturdays, starting November 13. Attendees can pre-register for the six-week sessions, or you can just drop in for $10 a class.
The kids’ yoga classes include, of course, some playful yoga (and take note: it is yoga aimed at kids, not workouts for adults with kids, like some mommy-and-me yoga is), with fun, practical breathing exercises, games, stories and imagination play. (“We like to engage in the energy kids already have, but also have some calming activities as well,” says Yoga Habit founder Jen Wendowski.)
