Even if you’re not a super-crafty type (I’m not), it’s hard not to be sort of psyched about the prospect of a giant (27,000-square-foot) new A.C. Moore flagship planting itself at Broad and Chestnut: Not only is the place going to be huge, but it will be the first A.C. Moore ever to have a space that can be rented out for children’s birthday parties. (Parties are recommended for kids 4 and up, and a two-hour party includes a 10-percent coupon for party supplies; complimentary invites; a designated party helper; clean-up; and craft ideas galore — t-shirt decorating, painting, jewelry-making, and so forth.)
If you know us, then you know we always get excited about fresh new spots for parties, and this news alone is nice. But beyond all the feting, the place will also feature giant departments for home decor (the first ever home decor department in an A.C. Moore store), fine arts supplies, custom framing and kid’s arts and crafts supplies. (In other words, it sounds like a new rainy day destination, which also makes us happy.)
Finally, the last bit of good stuff to share here: Should you decide to check it out the first week it’s open — and opening day is April 11 — then you can take advantage of some pretty decent promotions. On April 11, the first 500 customers get $10 gift cards. In days following that, there’ll be deep discounts on both single items and whole purchases, depending on what day you show.
