We know! It feels absolutely impossible right now to imagine that it will ever be summer. But eventually (we think?), this winter will end, and then spring will turn into summer, and before any of us can believe it, the kids will be out of school, and you’ll have to deal with that. So … might we suggest that you consider now Philly Art Center’s 2018 Summer Camps?
Philly Art Center, as many of you know, has a great track record with their camps (and their classes and their after-school programs … ). Kids love it all — the creativity, the chance to get messy, the skill-building, the friend-making and the play time. This year, the kids’ camps — aimed at littles aged 4 to 12, who are grouped by age — run on a week-by-week basis from June through September. Every week is inspired by a different theme, and campers spend the bulk of their days working with a range of media and playing outside — though they also enjoy museum trips, special events and guest artists. (Don’t you wish you could go to art camp, too?)
For those of you with older ones, the tween camps are equally cool, specially designed and instructed for kids 9 to 14. This year, the themes include a comics lab; a fine arts draw to print session; a clay workshop; machine and fashion sewing; and studio painting.
Camps go from from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with early (beginning at 8 a.m.) and late (until 5:30 p.m.) care available, as well as half-day options for the kids’ camps. You can read more about it here!
But whichever camp you’re considering, here’s a VERY IMPORTANT PIECE OF INFO: They are currently running an early bird special: You can get 25 percent off all weeks if you register before February 28. (After that, you can still get discounts if you register for 3-plus weeks.) All the more reason to start planning now.
